The dolls who created our musical fantasy

Her full-length play The Seamstress (Playwrights Horizons: “A passionate reflection on women’s rights and gender roles, grounded in a page-turning revenge drama”) was a Finalist at Gulf Shore Playhouse and Winner of the AACT National New Play Competition. It is available through Dramatic Publishing. Her full-length play Lateral Moves was winner of the 2022 Sarasota Players New Play Festival. Her short plays Urban Renewal, That’s What They All Say, High Rise and Fall, and The Comfort Room have been produced in theaters around the US. As a Louisville native a lifetime ago, she danced with the Louisville Ballet as a teen, then on to dinner theatre, TV, industrial shows, and lead dancer and supporting actress as Gussie Jordan in The Stephen Foster Story. She went on to study at The American Academy Dramatic Arts and HBStudios~NYC. As singer/dancer/actress/director-/choreographer/set-costume designer, her favorites include Fastrada in Pippin, Tessie Tura in Gypsy, Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and Lillian LaFleur in Nine. Teresa is a long-time Indiana public school choral director/drama director who now spends her time as a Florida composer/arranger, professional accompanist, and private piano and voice instructor. Teaching has always been Teresa’s passion, and she loves educating students of all ages and abilities, including children and adults with special needs. She is also passionate about writing and arranging music with positive, uplifting messages and melodies for schools and churches.Teresa also enjoyed serving as a church musician for many years. She also is an experienced musical theatre director, and continues this favorite activity in the spectacular Sunshine State.Teresa is married to fellow music educator, Paul, and they have two very talented daughters and sons-in-laws, and three grand pups.
